Summary of FS Vitoria 22/23

ABOUT COMPETITIONS

During the summer of the season 2022/2023 we have been in three different competitions; Formula Student UK, Formula Student Portugal and Formula Student Spain. It´s been our first year participating in dynamic events and we could not be more satisfied with the results obtained. here there is a summary of FS Vitoria during competitions.

Formula Student UK:

Our first competition this summer, where this journey began, we all were extremely excited at this point because we knew that the moment to show our project had finally arrived. Our first step was the Accumulator scrutineering. We managed to successfully pass it, not without troubles, but we completed it and the judges were really impressed without work.

Here is when Eurocircuits appears and takes part in our project. As the PCBs that control the Accumulator to guarantee a correct and safe functioning, they come from Eurocircuits.

After completing the Accumulator scrutineering, we nearly finished the mechanical one and we started the electrical, but we got out of time, and we could not run. Despite this, we received really valuable feedback from the competition judges and scrutineers. Wishing our comeback to next year’s competition.

Formula Student Portugal:

One week later, we travelled to Castelo Branco, where Formula Student Portugal was taking place. It was the first year of the competition and we thought they would be more relaxed in terms of normative than the UK, but that was quite far from reality. They took the German rules, and the scrutineers followed them strictly.

After a few days of hard working in the paddock, we managed to complete the accumulator scrutineering and the mechanical. But once again, we got out of time while we were doing the electrical scrutineering.

Formula Student Spain:

Right after Formula Student Portugal finished, we went to Formula Student Spain, our last competition this summer. We did a great job during our two previous competitions applying the feedback of the judges and scrutineers on our car, and we got the results during the Spanish competition.

We managed to pass all the scrutineering and finally, after a whole year of hard work, our car was allowed to participate in the Dynamic events. We ran in the Acceleration event and in the Autocross. We also had the opportunity to run in the Endurance event. But we decided to not participate as it was too much effort for our car.

Conclusion:

This summer has been the best one in Formula Student Vitoria history. All the feedback we got from the competitions, all the congratulations from the judges, scrutineers and the rest of the teams and the most important one. The satisfaction of watching our car finally running on the circuit.
