ISEL Formula Student’s Journey of Growth and Success

ISEL Formula Student (IFS)

This season was by far our hardest and had the biggest roller coaster of emotions. Our main objective was to design and build a car from the ground up in a year. We succeeded in doing so and the team is very proud of the results of this long season. Even though we had some problems when it came to the scrutineering’s, the team worked hard to solve them, also achieving the best results ever when it came to static events.

This year, we participated in FSSpain managing: Engineering Design P18, Business Plan Presentation P22, Cost Report P20 with an Overall P19.

We arrived in Portugal with all the feedback given by judges and scruts in mind and began reflecting on how to solve every problem. At the time for FSPortugal we had corrected all we could and achieved Engineering Design P6, Business Plan Presentation P2, Cost Report P8 with an Overall P5.

Although the problems we faced along the competitions, many scruts liked and praised our electrical systems for its simplicity such as our Battery Management System which was the system, we entrusted Eurocircuits to make. From printing the schematics to the board and assembling every component, we made the choice to ensure reliability of our system and, as we expected, testing the BMS was smooth sailing. Like we did with FSS we will take the feedback from FSPT and reflect upon it not only for future competitions but also for the future of our team.
